Theatre: Above and Beyond by Look Left, Look Right

We want to tell you about something we’ve just booked tickets for. We can’t vouch for it yet because we haven’t seen it, but the reason we’re excited is that it sounds a bit like a past theatrical favourite of ours: You Me Bum Bum Train. Like YMBBT, Above and Beyond takes audience members on an individual journey through a series of short interactive scenes, in which they are the central protagonist. As a result, the drama is semi-dependant on you, or whatever version of yourself you choose to channel, especially as Above and Beyond is rather glamourously set in the deluxe surroundings of the Corinthia Hotel – a grand 5 star establishment where contemporary flash meets old world rituals. So you can go to town and unleash your inner diva, or take a more minimalist approach and underplay things. Either way, you’ll be in the experienced hands of the award-winning theatre troupe Look Left, Look Right, as they guide each audience member from ballroom to back alley. We can’t wait to see what it’s like, and hope it lives up to expectation.
