Going Out
Children & Going Out: Skate at Somerset House

EVENT EXPIRED
There are so many ice rinks in London during winter now but our favourite still has to be Skate at Somerset House. Surrounded by beautiful architecture with an enormous, light-strewn Christmas tree, it feels such a christmassy, wintery treat. And it isn’t just about the skating either – although there are lessons available if you feel a little unsteady on the ice – for there are club nights, a Christmas shopping Arcade and some delicious food on offer too. Tom Aitkin has set up Tom’s Skate Lounge where you can get mulled wine, hot chocolate and soup or how about a nutmeg caramel toffee apple or spiced nougatine from the Fernandez & Wells café and bar? You can generally get tickets for off-peak times fairly easily but if you want to go nearer Christmas, especially in the evenings, we suggest you book pronto.
