Have you ever been to the theatre and thought: wow – what the hell is happening?’ That’s just about how we felt (in the best possible way) when we saw Fuertzabruta over 6 years ago, and it’s most probably how US pop star artist Usher felt when he saw it too, since he gatecrashed the cast for two recent New York performances. After having travelled the globe to rapturous applause, the “multi-sensory” Argentine show, by the creators of De La Guarda,  is returning to The Roundhouse this winter for a limited 4 week run.

Loosely translated from Spanish as ‘brute force’, Fuerzabruta is immersive physical theatre, not so much a play as a series of interlinked acts of high-octane inventiveness through which the audience wanders on foot. From dancers suspended from ceiling wires running literal rings round audience on the curved walls, to a glass-bottomed pool suspended merely inches above the audience’s heads, inside which the performers swim in semi-synchronised ecstasy. Billed as a ‘spectacular’, we can safely assure you that on no level whatsoever does it disappoint – except if you can’t get a ticket, so though this doesn’t open till the very end of the year, you must book tickets now as they are selling quickly.
