EVENT EXPIRED

This production of Uncle Vanya, directed by Lucy Bailey from a new version by Mike Poulton, got fabulous reviews and sold out quickly when it was on in Notting Hill’s tiny Print Room in April. We were desperate to see it – friends who saw it raved and raved – but couldn’t get tickets, and so were thrilled to discover that it’s making a return, with it’s original cast, to the same theatre for three weeks from 18th June to 7th July. Book now! The Print Room has just two rows of seats, set around the stage, so tickets are short never mind high demand, but the advantage is that you feel really involved in the action (there’s nothing worse than a tiny theatre if you are seeing a terrible play, but nothing better when a production really does transport you). We’ve heard that this adaptation is fantastic, as is Bailey’s direction, that Iain Glen leads a flawless cast, the costumes and set are just right, and that when it was on in April there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. But then, it is Chekhov. We booked tickets last night and can’t wait to see it, and do recommend you book now too.
