Shopping & Interiors: Svenskt Tenn closing-down sale at Liberty

Svenskt Tenn
When: From 4 April 2012

EVENT EXPIRED

Being half-Swedish, we’re rather partial to the iconic Swedish design house, Svenskt Tenn. Set up in 1924 by Estrid Ericson, it sells everything from furniture to fabric, the most famous of which bear the prints that resulted from collaborations with the Austrian designer Josef Frank. The results are classic but fresh (my grandmother has candlesticks bought 50 years ago that look just as modern now as they did then) with a bright, colourful vibrancy to them. You can get the full range at their newly renovated shop in Stockholm (see our guide here) but there is also a mini selection at Liberty’s furniture department which sadly, they have decided to close down. The silver lining though is that there’s a closing down sale which is currently 20% off and, from 4th until 30th April, up to 30% off which, as prices for Svenskt Tenn aren’t exactly cheap, makes these Scandi classics rather more affordable.
