Black Cab Sessions

I came across this website today and just love it. It’s a sort of mad idea – people record songs live in the back of black cabs (is this really what cab drivers want in the back of their taxis?!) And when I say people, I mean Fleet Foxes (one of my favourite videos), The Villagers, The Flaming Lips, Amadou et Miriam, Mumford and Sons, Martha Wainwright (below) and many, many more. It’s a great way to find new bands as the videos are short so you can get a good idea of what their music is like pretty quickly. Plus they sing with only a guitar (or other instrument) and no recording studio to help so their talent stands out raw and clear. Check out the website for yourself here.
